2012-12-24 “fellowship of his Son”

fellowship of his Son

I Corinthians 1:9God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

I can think of no greater joy in this present life than to experience “the fellowship of” “Jesus Christ our Lord”. To have “fellowship” with Him is to experience a tender and loving union with Him, to know within ourselves that we are in the protective presence of “our Lord”, to know that we have an Almighty “friend that sticketh closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24), to know that our “groaning is not hid from” Him (Psalm 38:9), to know that when it seems that everyone has forsaken us “then the LORD will take me up” (Psalm 27:10), to know that we are “now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him” (Romans 5:9), and that one holy day we “shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (I Thessalonians 4:17).
