better than a thousand

A “day in thy courts” (The Church) “is better than a thousand” days anywhere else or doing anything else that this present world has to offer. The point is that this present world has no equal to the Church. When seen through God-given faith; her glory, her majesty, her beauty, her joy, her peace, and her sweet Gospel are like the highest of all mountains. She is so spiritually attractive that “born again” (John 3:3) Children of God of “all nations shall flow unto it” (Isaiah 2:2). So great is this “house of God” that the Psalmist proclaimed that he would “rather be a doorkeeper” (have the lowest position) “in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness”; that is, than to have all the carnal benefits that this present world has to offer.
